Our Commitment To Your Safety

Our community is our family—and like all families, we take care of each other. So when we sat down to put new safety measures in place, we went beyond the guidelines.

Click below to see the details of our new plan, but keep in mind this is just a start. We have a few more upgrades in the works, and as we learn more, we’ll be constantly fine-tuning and updating this page with the latest—so you can always check back here.

'Your Health is Your Wealth' and it is vitally important we are dedicated to the cleanliness of all TUF gyms and the health and safety of our community.

GYM UPDATES

As we get green-lights from government officials and governing bodies, we’ll evaluate if we feel comfortable safely reopening the gyms. As of 25th July 2020 we are reopen and operating under Covid Secure procedures.

TUF Standards of Fitness and Safety.

The safety of our community has always been our top priority, and we’re even more focused on it now.

We’ve made changes to how we operate — all designed to keep our members and staff safe.

Here are all the changes you can expect from us:

Our Heightened Deep-Cleaning Process

Top-grade disinfectant & more frequent cleaning.
Staff will use a disinfectant proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all common areas more frequently—with a heightened attention to weights and all high-touch surfaces being sanitised after every class. We’ll also be cleaning the gym from top to bottom more often each week.

Disinfecting high-touch surfaces.

At every opportunity, we’ll disinfect doorknobs, handles, rails, light switches, sanitising stations, lockers, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, benches, locker keys, the front desk, keyboards, computers, phones, and instructor equipment.

Personal weights and equipment disinfected.

After every class, all kit within your 'training square' will be thoroughly disinfected—even if not in use. We ask you help us out here by using the cleaning equipment in your square to clean anything you've used prior to leaving the gym.

Outdoor Shoes swapped for 'Gym Only' Shoes.

In the essence of keeping flooring and training surfaces as clean as possible, we may ask members to carry their training shoes in and swap once in the hallway. Please note, if you come in with dirty trainers that leave mud we'll ask you to remove these.

Staff face masks

Anytime staff are to be in close proximity to members (taking pre exercise body temperatures where needed or dealing with emergency situations, they will be required to wear face masks.

Before You Exercise

Staff health check.

Every staff member is required to stay off work if they are feeling unwell or symptomatic for cold or flu and follow procedures as per Govt. guidelines on self isolation if confirmed illness.

Member health check.

Members must not attend if they feel unwell or have cold or flu like symptoms.

hand washing and using hand sanitisers.

We will implement a strict one way system in and out of the gym. Starting with washing hands in the designated bathroom with anti-bacterial soap and hot water.

Hand sanitiser dispensers will also be situated upon entering the gym and exiting.

Social distancing practices.

Our staff will work to get members in and out of gyms one by one, while maintaining social distancing practices.

To help, floor markers will indicate routes and direct members to their 'training square' which will be a safe distance from all other members. We are working on minimum 2.5m squared training areas per person

We ask that you avoid waiting for class in high-traffic areas, and consider waiting outside or in your car if you’re comfortable and weather permits it.

Storage of Personal belongings.

Please only use cubby holes that are marked available for your square only which will be disinfected between classes. We highly suggest bringing only the necessities.

Emergency water fountain use only.

We strongly urge you to bring your own water bottle filled up before hand.

Late entries.

Once the class starts, we won’t be able to let members in. Be punctual and be patient, allow a few extra minutes to get in the door.

Shower access.

Showers will be unavailable until further notice.

Member Responsibility:

Keeping each other safe.

We’ve put a lot of changes in place—with details beyond what you see here.

The way our new safety process will be most effective is if we all make sure to do our part in it. (Good thing our TUF people are the best people.)

Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our government, we ask that any member coming to a gym walks in with the approach our TUF family takes for most things: Go above and beyond for each other.

Please make sure to practice social distancing when in close, shared spaces like toilets and also in outdoor areas like car parks. Follow the markers placed around the gyms to maintain a safe distance.

If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the gym until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the gym for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.

If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in to exercise, please stay home and stay safe. Speak to us and if you miss out through illness we’ll happily add the class back to your account, and welcome you back in when you’re healthy and feel comfortable coming back to train.

We’re encouraging members and staff to limit person-to-person contact. Community is at our core but right now, this is the best way to take care of our TUF Fam.

It might be a bit overwhelming at first. But trust us: As soon as that first warm up song starts playing, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love. That sanctuary you’ve been needing now more than ever is even safer now—and we can’t wait to see you there.

Moving forward, we’re continuing to monitor the situation.

While we’re taking every precaution to keep our community safe (and encourage you to do the same), we’re acutely aware of and highly prepared for the possibility of a second wave.

In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in your gym and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect the site from top to bottom.

With no way to predict what will happen, the best way we can prepare is to respond and evolve as the situation develops—with nothing but your safety in mind.

Whether you plan to join us in the studio, or feel more comfortable staying home, we’re here for you. If you have questions or concerns, don't be a stranger - support@unit.fitness
